  • Product Details

Production method Use racemic tetramisole as raw material, and obtain it through splitting, alkali precipitation, and acidification to form salt. Boil dibenzoyl-D-tartaric anhydride in water for 40 minutes, hydrolyze and neutralize with sodium hydroxide solution to pH7.5, and add racemic tetramisole. Levamisole and dibenzoyl tartaric acid form salt and precipitate. After separation, add sodium hydroxide solution to pH=9 to decompose levamisole. Then dissolve in dilute hydrochloric acid solution, decolorize with activated carbon, concentrate the filtrate to near dryness, add acetone and cool to 0℃ to precipitate crystals. Filter and dry to obtain levamisole hydrochloride.Uses It is an anthelmintic. The activity of levamisole is about twice that of the racemate, and its toxicity and side effects are also low. Levamisole can paralyze the muscles of roundworms and then be excreted from the body with feces. It is mainly used to fight roundworms and hookworms.
